St Albans festive trail nutcracker vandalised


A giant nutcracker soldier which is part of a festive trail has been vandalised.Fifteen soldiers and their King were positioned around St Albans and surrounding villages as part of the Nutcracker Trail.The one at St Albans train station was damaged overnight. The St Albans Business Improvement District (BID), which organised the trail, called it a “senseless and silly act of needless vandalism”.Manager Helen Burridge, said: “It’s a shame that a small minority have felt the need to spoil the fun for everyone else.”Local businesses have funded the Nutcracker Trail through their contributions to St Albans BID and we are all upset by what has happened.”The nutcracker soldier has been removed for the time being but will be replaced before the weekend.British Transport Police is appealing for anyone with any information to come forward.
