MK Dons made their one-man advantage count as they came from behind to secure a draw at Scunthorpe. The Iron had gone in at the break 2-1 ahead on the back of goals from Hakeeb Adelakun and Kevin van Veen, but the turning point came in first-half stoppage time when midfielder Neal Bishop was shown a red card. The Dons had looked the most dangerous side during the opening 45 minutes but struggled to find a way past inspired goalkeeper Matt Gilks before Adelakun put the hosts in front against the run of play.

Kieran Agard finally equalised three minutes before the break, but Scunthorpe’s response was instant, with Van Veen following up a Duane Holmes shot within 60 seconds of the equaliser to score from close range. However, the half ended on a sour note for the hosts when Bishop was red-carded for having been deemed to have elbowed Chucks Aneke. The Dons spent much of the second period on the front foot and levelled for a second time in the 66th minute via Aneke’s header from a free-kick.And but for some better finishing from Aneke, who shot off target three times in the closing five minutes, they could have had all three points.Match report supplied by the Press Association.Line-upsMatch StatsLive TextLine-upsScunthorpe1Gilks22Sutton21Burgess20Goode5Wallace12BishopBooked at 45mins16Adelakun11MorrisBooked at 45mins19HolmesSubstituted forTownsendat 45’minutes10van VeenSubstituted forCroftsat 45’minutesSubstituted forButroidat 85’minutes14HopperSubstitutes3Townsend4Crofts15Lewis18Redmond30Church31Watson33ButroidMK Dons1Nicholls2WilliamsBooked at 31mins19Ebanks-LandellBooked at 9mins4Walsh12GolbourneSubstituted forWoottonat 54’minutes18McGrandles6Upson14Agard10Aneke11Pawlett9SowSubstituted forAriyibiat 60’minutesSubstitutes5Wootton7Ariyibi13Sietsma15Seager21Nesbitt30Nombe31Thomas-AsanteReferee:Graham SalisburyAttendance:3,569Match StatsHome TeamScunthorpeAway TeamMK DonsPossessionHome46%Away54%ShotsHome10Away24Shots on TargetHome5Away11CornersHome2Away13FoulsHome12Away13Live TextPosted at Match ends, Scunthorpe United 2, MK Dons 2.Full TimePosted at 90’+6′ Second Half ends, Scunthorpe United 2, MK Dons 2.Posted at 90’+4′ Corner, MK Dons.
